Disney+ Cartoon Demands Reparations And More With ‘Slaves Built This Country’ Song
Disney is back in the throes of awakening with a new episode of its cartoon series “Proud Family” — which featured kids singing a song about reparations that America “owes” About how it affects black Americans “slaves built this country.”
The most recent episode, which aired on Disney+ was titled “Louder and Prouder,” Reviews the history Juneteenth when the kids discover their town’s founder was a slave-owner. The line opens the song. “This country was built on slavery — which means slaves built this country” — and that line was repeated over and over throughout.

“We the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering,” The song went on. “And continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in a systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy that America was founded with and still has not atoned for.”
This cartoon shows four black students staring at each other while the one white student was holding a sign that said “This is the end of the cartoon.” “still has not atoned for.”
“Slaves built this country,” They shouted more and claimed, “We made your families rich,” They listed plantation owners as well as northern bankers and New England ship-owners. The Founding Fathers and current senators were also included in the list.
