Disney Earnings Call: Over 50% Of Disney+ Subscribers Are Adults Without Kids
It was revealed during an earnings call earlier this week that over 50 percent of subscribers to the Walt Disney Company’s Disney+ streaming service are adults without children.
Reporter Rex Woodbury revealed on Tuesday that over fifty percent of subscribers to the platform that caters to children and family content are adults without children.
Some Twitter users noted that this trend may be due in part to the streaming service being offered as part of a bundle, with Hulu and the streaming service’s Live TV option being included.
Others noted the prominence of “Disney adults,” or fans of the company’s creations that have no children, in the company’s parks.
While others brought up that the number of adults living without children has risen in the last half-century.
The earnings call revelation comes a month after the now-former CEO Bob Chapek was fired, with his predecessor, Bob Iger, once again taking the reins.
It also comes on the heels of Strange World, one of Disney’s newest films, flopping on opening weekend, falling far short of $40 million estimates.
