DOJ denies attempting to imprison Hunter Biden witness Devon Archer before testimony.

The Department of Justice Denies Attempt to Prevent Hunter Biden’s Ex-Business Partner from Testifying

The ⁣Department of Justice has denied allegations that it ⁤tried ⁤to ‍prevent Hunter Biden’s ex-business ⁤partner, Devon Archer, from testifying to Congress. This denial comes after the DOJ requested Archer to report⁤ to prison over a separate case. Archer, who sat on the board of ⁤Ukrainian gas company⁢ Burisma with⁤ Hunter Biden, testified behind⁢ closed doors to the House Oversight‌ Committee about Joe Biden’s involvement in Ukraine policy while Hunter Biden was on ⁢the board.

Speculation arose that the DOJ was attempting to intimidate‌ Archer by requesting his prison sentence to begin before ‌his congressional testimony. However, the DOJ clarified that the process of sending Archer to prison would take several weeks or months ⁣and would not interfere with his testimony.

In a letter to Judge Ronnie Abrams, overseeing Archer’s fraud case,⁤ the DOJ requested Archer⁤ to surrender to a ⁤designated facility after his congressional testimony is completed. Archer’s lawyer⁤ also stated that his client does not believe the DOJ’s request was intended to prevent his testimony.

Archer’s Testimony and Hunter Biden’s Legal Troubles

During his testimony, Archer was expected to reveal that he witnessed Hunter Biden making numerous phone calls to his father, Joe Biden, during meetings with foreign business partners. Joe Biden has consistently distanced himself from his son’s foreign business‌ dealings.

Meanwhile, Hunter Biden is ⁣facing legal troubles related to alleged tax crimes. A plea deal he made with the DOJ recently fell apart, and the judge has instructed both parties to create a new agreement. The original deal would have allowed Hunter Biden to plead guilty to misdemeanor tax crimes and receive immunity on other criminal charges, avoiding jail time. The White House has‌ confirmed that ⁢President Biden will not issue a pardon for his son.
