A Democrat Congressman Defends DOJ, FBI, and IRS
In a fiery speech during the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the Biden family, Rep. Kweisi Mfume (D-MD) passionately criticized Republicans for their focus on the Hunter Biden investigation. Mfume declared that the Department of Justice, FBI, and IRS are essential for maintaining the integrity of our democracy.
Mfume highlighted Hunter Biden’s legal troubles, including tax evasion, a gun charge, and alleged involvement in prostitution. However, he expressed frustration that these issues were overshadowing the importance of the agencies in question.
“I don’t like these attacks on the Department of Justice, the FBI, the IRS, as if they are somehow anti-U.S. agencies. Those agencies keep this democracy in check. They provide the checks and they provide the balance,” Mfume passionately stated.
As he concluded his remarks, Mfume humorously exclaimed, “This is ludicrous. Beam me up, Scotty. There’s no intelligent life down here. None.”
