DOJ may have evidence showing possible Trump obstruction in classified documents case: Report

The Department of Justice may have gathered more evidence suggesting that former President Donald Trump obstructed justice by tampering with classified documents, according to a Washington Post report.

Sources familiar with the investigation claim that Special Counsel Jack Smith used emails and text messages from a former Trump aide, Molly Michael, to build a case against Trump or his team. Prosecutors believe that Trump hand-picked certain documents from the boxes after a subpoena had been served, the sources said.

Trump’s team has denied the accusations and dismissed the investigation as a “witch hunt.”

This latest report follows Trump’s indictment by a Manhattan grand jury in connection with payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels by former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.
