DOJ reveals classified messages in Proud Boys trial

Justice Department U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly granted officials a pause during the trial on Thursday. They will have to complete a classification review of messages discovered on a spreadsheet that was provided by the defense.

The spreadsheet contained communications between FBI Special Agent Nicole Miller and the bureau’s internal message service, from Jan. 6, 2021 to Nov. 11, 20,21. Miller was scheduled to be cross-examined. The defense discovered hidden rows of messages from FBI agents as well as a reference that Miller had accessed the attorney-client privilege communications of a defendant. Per WUSA.
The defense attempted Wednesday to make the hidden communications evidence to discredit Miller’s testimony, but prosecutors resisted. On Thursday, the prosecution stated that hidden rows may not be subject to review.
