Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that the suspect was captured by the FBI in Plano,Texas. She emphasized the seriousness of attacks on Tesla properties,referring to them as domestic terrorism and stating that those responsible will face critically important legal consequences. Bondi mentioned that previous vandalism incidents have led to similar federal charges, reflecting a broader crackdown on the surge of violence directed at Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk. this wave of attacks is reportedly linked to frustrations among left-wing activists regarding Musk’s involvement in political matters.

The Department of Justice has announced charges against a man accused of bombing a Tesla dealership, saying it is seeking to get him imprisoned for 20 years.

On Monday, Attorney General Pam Bondi said suspect Cooper Frederick was being charged for a firebombing of a Tesla dealership on March 7 in Loveland, Colorado. The suspect was pursued by the FBI and arrested in Plano, Texas.

“I’ve made it clear: If you take part in the wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, we will find you, arrest you, and put you behind bars,” she said. “Today, I am proud to announce that the Department of Justice has unsealed federal charges against another Tesla attacker. All of these cases are a serious threat to public safety; therefore, there will be no negotiating.”

“Let this be a warning: You can run, but you cannot hide. Justice is coming,” Bondi added.

The attorney general warned earlier this month that she would begin charging Tesla vandals with domestic terrorism, hitting the first three suspects with domestic terrorism charges on March 20.

“The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism. The Department of Justice has already charged several perpetrators with that in mind, including in cases that involve charges with five-year mandatory minimum sentences,” a statement from Bondi on March 18 said. “We will continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes.”

Tesla vehicles, charging stations, and dealerships have been targeted in a campaign of attacks in recent weeks, ranging from graffiti to firebombing Tesla vehicles. The attacks came as left-wing activists expressed their frustrations over Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s large role in the Trump administration.

BONDI CHARGES THREE PEOPLE OVER TESLA VANDALISM

Republican figures have decried the violence as domestic terrorism and sought to see it prosecuted as such. The FBI recently opened a task force investigating Tesla vandalism.

Tesla stock has decreased by 40% over the last year. It peaked before Trump’s inauguration in January at over $428 per share but is sitting at $259 as of Monday.
