Dollar Tree pausing the sale of eggs at stores

Despite the fact that a dozen eggs of Grade A costing on average $4.21 per dozen in January, the discount retailer has stopped selling eggs to customers.

“Our primary price point at Dollar Tree is $1.25. The cost of eggs is currently very high,” Randy Guiler, spokesperson of the company, said.
Guiler states that the store will be bringing back eggs. “costs are more in line with historical levels.”
This change will have an impact on the grocery sections in approximately 8,000 Dollar Tree locations across the United States.

According to the Consumer Price Index, retail prices are up 55% compared to a year ago.
Due to Easter’s higher egg demand, eggs prices could rise once again in April.
