Don Lemon’s first TV interview since CNN firing.
Former CNN Host Don Lemon Opens Up About Firing in Candid Interview
Former CNN host Don Lemon recently sat down for his first television interview since his unexpected departure from the network earlier this year. Speaking at the NAACP Memphis chapter conference, Lemon discussed the circumstances surrounding his firing, hinting at the importance of his “journalistic duty.”
A Stand Against Misinformation
“I don’t believe in platforming liars, and bigots, and insurrectionists, and election deniers, and putting them on the same footing as people who are telling the truth, people who are fighting for what’s right, people who are abiding by the Constitution,” Lemon passionately expressed. “I think that would be a dereliction of journalistic duty doing those sorts of things. That is what has gotten me to this point, and that is what is going to carry me forward.”
With a clear stance against misinformation, Lemon emphasized the importance of upholding journalistic integrity and ensuring that truth prevails.
Charting a New Path
As for his next steps, Lemon admitted that he is still in the process of figuring things out. Unlike others who may rush into decisions, he wants to take his time to ensure he makes the right choices. Referencing former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who quickly started a Twitter show after his firing, Lemon emphasized the need for careful consideration.
“I’m not worried, at all,” Lemon reassured. “People are concerned about me and more worried about me than I am about myself.”
While Lemon’s future remains uncertain, he remains optimistic and confident in his ability to navigate this new chapter.
A Changing Landscape
It’s worth noting that Chris Licht, the CEO of CNN at the time of Lemon’s firing, has also since been relieved from his position. This suggests that the network may be undergoing significant changes, leaving room for speculation about what lies ahead.
