Donald Trump arrested; aides deny not buying ‘food for all’ at Miami eatery.

Aides Push Back on Accusations of Unpaid Restaurant Bill

Aides for Donald Trump are refuting claims that the former president left a Miami restaurant without paying for the food he offered to buy for his supporters. According to a spokesperson for Trump, he had indeed offered to treat his supporters at the Versailles Bakery, but they followed him outside without placing any orders before he left.

Appreciation for Versailles Restaurant

The spokesperson expressed Trump’s gratitude towards the family at Versailles Restaurant for warmly welcoming him during his visit. At the end of his visit, Trump extended the offer to buy food for the attendees inside the restaurant. However, when he left, the attendees followed him outside without placing any orders themselves.

The spokesperson clarified that campaign staffers had already paid in advance for “to-go” orders, ensuring that no tab was left unpaid.

Contradicting Reports

These statements come in response to unnamed sources claiming that Trump’s visit to the Cuban restaurant was merely a 10-minute photo-op, with no food ordered for Trump or his fans, despite his proclamation of “food for everyone!”

It is worth noting that during the visit, the crowd at the bakery also sang “happy birthday” to the former president, who turned 77 on Wednesday.

Legal Troubles

Trump’s visit to the Versailles Bakery followed his arraignment at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The former president is facing 37 counts stemming from an FBI raid at his Mar-a-Lago resort last summer, related to the alleged mishandling of classified documents.

The charges against Trump include 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information, which violates the Espionage Act. He also faces one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice, one count of withholding a document or record, and one count of corruptly concealing a document or record, among other charges. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
