Report: Trump likely to face more federal charges
Former President Donald Trump Faces Potential Indictment in Connection with Capitol Incursion
According to a report from NBC News, former President Donald Trump is expected to face yet another indictment in the coming days. The news was broken by reporter Tom Winter on behalf of his colleague Adam Reiss, who received the information from two individuals with direct knowledge of the matter.
The indictment is said to be related to Trump’s actions surrounding the 2021 Capitol incursion. This would be in addition to the two indictments already brought against him this year for the alleged mishandling of classified materials and falsifying business records.

However, later on Thursday, NBC News reported that both Trump and his spokesman refuted the initial report, stating that it was incorrect.
Last week, Trump revealed that he had received a letter from the Department of Justice, informing him of a federal grand jury investigation into his involvement in the events of January 6, 2021. The letter mentioned three statutes that Trump is being investigated for potentially violating: deprivation of rights, conspiracy to defraud the U.S., and witness tampering.
Trump’s attorneys, Todd Blanche and John Lauro, met with the prosecution on this case, and sources say they were informed to expect an indictment following the meeting.
Despite the potential indictment, Trump expressed some optimism on his Truth Social platform, stating that his attorneys had a productive meeting with the Department of Justice and that he believes he did nothing wrong. He also cautioned against trusting the “Fake News” on any information.
In response to the NBC News report, Trump’s spokesman, Steven Cheung, stated that the report was incorrect.
