Donald Trump indicted: Trump campaign raised ‘record’ $7 million in three days since indictment, senior adviser says

Following the indictment of the former US President, Donald Trump, his presidential campaign raised a staggering $7 million in just three days, setting a new record, according to a senior campaign adviser, Jason Miller.

Miller made the announcement moments after Trump left for New York City, where he will face arraignment on Tuesday.

The majority of the money, about $4 million, was raised within the first 24 hours, according to a report by Trump’s campaign. The average donation was $34 and first-time donors accounted for about 25% of the total tally.

Trump had already used the hype around his impending indictment to raise campaign funds, and he followed up his official indictment by sending out emails asking for donations from his supporters.

“In only three days since news of the indictment, President @realDonaldTrump’s campaign has raised a record $7M,” tweeted Miller.
