Donald Trump Jr. to join Wisconsin’s first GOP debate.
Donald Trump Jr. is making a bold move by attending the first Republican presidential primary debate in Wisconsin, even though his father has chosen not to participate.
Excitedly sharing his plans on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Trump Jr. wrote, “We’re excited to see all of our friends in Milwaukee who want to Make America Great Again!!!”
Prior to his announcement, Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle revealed to the Daily Caller that they will be taking part in the debate. They expressed confidence that in 2024, GOP voters will reject the RINO establishment and re-nominate President Trump in a landslide. Additionally, they will conduct interviews for former President Donald Trump and promote their Rumble shows.
Trump’s campaign has confirmed that Trump Jr. will be in Wisconsin, serving as a media surrogate for his father.
President Donald Trump made headlines on Sunday when he announced on his Truth Social platform that he would not be attending the debate, which is being hosted by Fox News on the evening of Aug. 23.
In a tweet, President Trump shared the results of a new CBS poll that showed him leading the field by “legendary” numbers. He emphasized his successful presidency and listed his accomplishments.
Instead of participating in the debate, President Trump has opted for an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Furthermore, President Trump has announced that he will surrender to authorities at Fulton County jail in Georgia on Aug. 24, in connection to charges related to his efforts to dispute the state’s 2020 election results.
Debate
Qualifying for the Aug. 23 debate requires meeting polling and donor requirements set by the Republican National Committee (RNC). The RNC has announced that eight candidates have met the requirements and will participate in the debate.
The eight candidates are Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, Doug Burgum, Asa Hutchinson, and Tim Scott.
Larry Elder, who announced his 2024 White House bid in April, claims to have also qualified for the debate. However, according to Arizona Republican Kari Lake, Elder is not allowed to join the debate due to the affiliation of one of his polls with Trump.
Rep. Byron Donalds has expressed his excitement about attending the debate, emphasizing his role as Co-Chair of the RNC’s Bank Your Vote campaign.
Meanwhile, Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz will be speaking on Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSNB) on Rumble at 11 p.m. ET on Aug.
