Donald Trump Jr. ‘wouldn’t rule out’ role in father’s White House – Washington Examiner
Donald Trump Jr. recently indicated that he would not dismiss the idea of taking a role in his father’s administration after the anticipated 2025 inauguration, although he did not commit to it, expressing uncertainty about whether he would enjoy government work. Following Donald Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, Trump Jr. plans to focus on the transition and the selection of an effective Cabinet team. He emphasized the importance of promoting an “America First” agenda, working to eliminate ongoing conflicts, and enhancing the economy. Additionally, Trump Jr. criticized Democrats for their calls for unity, arguing that their past actions contradict this message. He highlighted the growing appeal of his father’s policies among younger voters, noting a cultural shift that aligns with Republican ideals as a form of rebellion against established norms.

Donald Trump Jr. did not jump at the possibility of accepting a position within his father’s administration come 2025, but added he wouldn’t rule it out.
Now that President-elect Donald Trump won the 2024 election over Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump Jr. explained he is focused on spending the next three months on the transfer of power and ensuring his father’s Cabinet is filled with “the most incredible team.” However, he did not give certainty over whether he would work in his father’s administration, as he is unsure if he is “a government-work kind of guy.”
“I don’t ever rule anything out, you never know,” Trump Jr. said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends. “If I’m asked, I would do it. It’s not necessarily a day job I would want, but I am going to be very active, like I said, for the next 90 days making sure I surround my father with people who are going to deliver for the American people for the America First message. We’re going to stop these wars, we’re going to build back the economy, we’re going to put Americans first again, and we’re going to get rid of the insanity that has become so pervasive in our country that has done so much damage to so many things.”
Trump Jr. also rebuked Democrats for calling for unity now that his father won the election, suggesting they have been pushing this “shallow” message for several decades now. He added that the “disgusting” weaponization of the U.S. Department of Justice against his father ran counter to their unity messaging, and voters realized their message was “nonsense” due to his father winning the popular vote for the first time.
The 2024 election saw Trump perform better than in previous years in numerous counties across the nation, including in the state of New York. Trump Jr. noted how this is part of a shift happening among voters across the country, including younger voters apart of Generation Z who “understand” the issues facing the country.
“The reality is, right now, Trump, America First, it’s become cool,” Trump Jr. said. “It’s become very cool. I’ve gone on college campuses and there’s a thousand kids going to a party, they’re wearing MAGA hats! It’s absolutely spectacular to see, so there’s been a whole cultural shift! If you’re a rebel, if you’re a hippy, if you’re a little bit counterculture, if you want to push back, you’re actually in the Republican Party now! The Democrat Party is that party of you’re just listening to the gospel of your teachers, of big government, of big corporate. There’s nothing that sexy about it anymore, so it’s really cool to see.”
Trump’s win against Harris makes him only the first president to win two non-consecutive presidential elections, the first being former President Grover Cleveland, the nation’s 22nd and 24th president. Harris contacted Trump on Wednesday to concede the race and told attendees at a speech at Howard University that “we must accept the results of this election.”
Jason Miller, the president-elect’s senior adviser, credited the Republican Party’s shift in demographics to helping Trump win the election, as the party is now representative of the working class. Miller added that part of why Trump won was due to how the former president “made it clear how he’s going to improve the lives of every American.”
