Lawmaker sets date for UFO hearing, vows to end cover-ups.
House Oversight Committee to Hold Hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs)
Lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee are gearing up for an intriguing hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) next week. The hearing, scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, has been a topic of conversation on Capitol Hill, thanks in part to the efforts of Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), a member of the panel who has been vocal about the need for transparency.

While the list of witnesses for the hearing remains undisclosed, Rep. Burchett and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), another committee member, have provided a glimpse into what to expect. According to ABC News, the hearing will feature professionals in the field, and it has already faced resistance from certain government agencies.
Rep. Burchett expressed his frustration with a government that lacks trust in its own people, stating, “I’m sick of government… that does not trust the people.”
In a recent report by The Debrief, David Grusch, a U.S. military veteran and former intelligence official, revealed classified information suggesting the existence of non-human craft. Grusch claims that this information has been illegally withheld from Congress. “We are not talking about prosaic origins or identities,” Grusch emphasized. “The material includes intact and partially intact vehicles.”
In response to these claims, the Department of Defense’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), responsible for investigating UAPs, has denied any knowledge of extraterrestrial materials or reverse-engineering programs. AARO Director Sean Kirkpatrick stated that they have not discovered any verifiable information to substantiate these claims.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, acknowledged the significance of Grusch’s claims during an interview with Fox News. Rubio emphasized the need to determine the truth behind these allegations, as they could potentially be the “biggest story in human history.”
Lawmakers, including Rubio, are now pushing for legislation that would require the government to disclose information about UAPs. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has expressed his support for transparency, stating that he would like the American people to “see what we have, where we go.”
McCarthy also humorously suggested that if the U.S. military were to discover evidence of a UFO, they would likely inform Congress in order to secure additional funding.
