Dozens Of Looters Storm A California Nordstrom; Employees Pepper-Sprayed, Physically Assaulted
Dozens of looters raced in and out of a Walnut Creek, California, Nordstrom store Saturday night, stealing an unknown amount of merchandise.
NBC News reported that, according to a police spokesperson, about “80 people rushed into the store in the city’s Broadway Plaza.” One employee was pepper-sprayed and two others were punched and kicked in the mayhem, with all three sustaining minor injuries. They were all treated and released at the scene, the spokesperson told NBC.
The store was open when the looting happened, with the crime occurring in under a minute.
Jodi Hernandez, a reporter for NBC Bay Area, was nearby during the looting and reported seeing dozens of cars blocking the streets while people rushed in and out of the store.
“About 25 cars just blocked the street and rushed into the Walnut Creek Nordstrom making off with goods before getting in cars snd [sic] speeding away. At least two people arrested at gunpoint,” Hernandez reported on Twitter, including video of some of the suspects fleeing with merchandise and returning to their cars.
