Meanwhile, Texas law enforcement’s Operation Lone Star, an initiative to secure the border since March 2021, has yielded significant results. They have apprehended a staggering 497,600 illegal migrants, with 39,000 arrests resulting in 35,200 felony charges. Additionally, officials have seized a mind-boggling 454 million lethal doses of fentanyl since the operation’s inception.
Since Biden assumed office, over 10 million immigrants have reportedly entered the country illegally, marking the highest number recorded during the same timeframe for any administration. Of these, approximately 6 million have crossed the Texas border unlawfully.
Abbott has taken a bold step in addressing the issue by sending over 102,400 migrants to sanctuary cities such as Washington, D.C., New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Chicago, utilizing more than 2,200 buses since April 2022.
