Ducks’ Power Play Gets on Track in 3–2 Win Over Canadiens

ANAHEIM, Calif.—Mason McTavish and Jakob Silfverberg scored power-play goals in the third period and the Anaheim Ducks extended their point streak to five games, beating the Montreal Canadiens 3–2 on Friday night, Mar. 3.

Jayson Megna also scored for Anaheim, which is 4–0–1 during its streak. John Gibson saved 26 shots.

Jonathan Drouin was credited with a goal as well as an assist, while Nick Suzuki scored for Montreal. Sam Montembeault saved 30 shots. The Canadiens are down two consecutive times and have lost three of the last four.

Anaheim entered the game on the power-play last with a 15.6% conversion ratio and had been 1 for 17 the five previous games.

The Ducks found their rhythm with the man advantage in the middle of the third period. McTavish scored on a one-timer from the right faceoff circle off a pass by Cam Fowler to make it 2–1. McTavish scored his 14th goal and led the team with seven on the power play. McTavish has scored a point in all three games that he played with both a goal or assist.
