Eagles QB Jalen Hurts stays silent about White House visit

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts stayed silent after being asked if he planned to join his teammates in visiting the White House to celebrate the Eagles’ victory in Super Bowl 59.

“Um…” Hurts responded to the question at the 2025 TIME100 gala before offering a quick smile and looking around.

The interviewer appeared to take the hint and thanked Hurts for his time.

The Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in February to claim the team’s second Super Bowl victory. According to a report, President Donald Trump invited them to honor the accomplishment at the White House on Monday.

Multiple Eagles players have said they would not attend the White House, but team owner Jeffrey Lurie called visiting the White House a “time-honored tradition,” the report noted.

“When you grow up, and you hear about, ‘Oh, the championship team got to go to the White House,’ that’s what this is,” Lurie said. “And so, we didn’t have that opportunity, and now we do. I think we’re all looking forward to it.”

Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni echoed Lurie’s sentiment.

EAGLES ACCEPT WHITE HOUSE INVITATION AFTER SUPER BOWL WIN

“I’m really excited to go, yeah,” he said. “What an honor. What an honor to be able to go to the White House. Teams that have been able to win championships have been doing that for a long time, and I’m really honored to go and really excited to go.”

The Eagles did not visit the White House in 2018 following the team’s Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots, according to a report. Trump canceled the event when it was discovered that so few players planned to be in attendance.
