‘Egregious’ criminal illegal immigrants deported to Mexico

Federal immigration authorities in Houston, Texas, recently deported 174 illegal immigrants with extensive criminal records, totaling over 600 convictions among them. The deportations took place between March 17 and 28, and included individuals who had been previously removed multiple times. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) highlighted that the group had been deported a combined 415 times and included serious offenders such as a 36-year-old who had been deported 39 times and had multiple convictions including illegal reentry and DWI. ICE emphasized its commitment to public safety and its ongoing efforts to remove immigrants who pose a threat to communities. The deported individuals faced a variety of charges, including drug offenses, domestic violence, and aggravated assault. This operation aligns with former President Trump’s immigration policies aimed at enforcing stricter deportation measures for criminal illegal immigrants.

ICE deports previously removed illegal immigrants with ‘egregious’ crime records

Federal immigration authorities in Houston deported 174 illegal immigrants with more than 600 criminal convictions across the group, including a number of previously deported repeat offenders, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Between March 17 and 28, ICE’s Houston office removed illegal immigrants with significant criminal histories to Mexico, the agency announced in a press release Thursday.

The group of illegal immigrants had been deported previously a combined 415 times. ICE did not release the names of the immigrants but provided details on some of their backgrounds.

“This is just a small snapshot of the amazing work that the brave men and women at ICE do every day to enhance public safety in Southeast Texas,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Houston Field Office Director Bret Bradford said in a statement. “Fueled by our unwavering commitment to protect the public from harm, and united in our determination to restore integrity to our nation’s system of laws, ICE will continue to aggressively pursue and remove anyone who threatens the safety of our communities and the national security of our country.”

The agency listed “egregious” offenders, including a 36-year-old criminal immigrant who had been deported 39 times from the United States and convicted of illegal reentry four times. The unnamed person was also convicted of driving while intoxicated, a drug-related offense, and fraud.

A 48-year-old immigrant from Mexico was deported for the 14th time. That person had 25 criminal convictions, including seven for narcotics offenses, six for resisting arrest, two for identity theft, two for domestic violence, two for assault, and once for battery, larceny, kidnapping, illegal entry, illegal reentry, and destruction of evidence.

A 50-year-old Mexican immigrant and confirmed Florencia 13 gang member was deported for a ninth time in addition to previous convictions of domestic violence, battery, possession of stolen property, drug possession, aggravated assault with a gun, and illegal entry.

A 60-year-old Mexican immigrant who had been convicted of DWI on eight occasions and deported seven times was removed from the country.

A 46-year-old immigrant from Mexico, deported for the seventh time, had been convicted of DWI three times, four times for illegal entry, twice for illegal reentry, twice for obstruction, and once for immigration fraud, narcotics possession, and burglary.

TRUMP DHS SUED FOR REQUIRING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO REGISTER WITH FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

Among that group of immigrants, ICE officials said eight had been convicted for hit-and-run, 146 for driving while intoxicated, 83 for drug trafficking or possession-related offenses, and 72 for aggravated assault and assault charges.

President Donald Trump vowed as a candidate to carry out the nation’s largest-ever deportation operation and began having ICE target criminal illegal immigrants and those with previously issued removal orders from the courts on his first day in office.
