A pair of Friday shootings left eight people, including a 12-year-old girl, injured in Washington D.C., police said.

The first shooting took place in Southeast Washington D.C. at around 10 p.m., leaving seven men shot, police said. “Right now, we are investigating the scenes as being connected,” said Assistant Chief Andre Wright during an update early Saturday morning. “It’s possible that they are not, however, given the locations and the proximity of the events, I find it likely that the two scenes are connected.

The two shootings took place about a half mile from each other, according to police.

Police are looking for a car that witnesses described as a black sedan, possibly a Mercedes. The vehicle “drove through the block and indiscriminately fired upon” several people, according to Wright.
