Rasmussen said, “This is a clear rejection of the founding ideals of self-governance. It is clearly a rejection of the idea that governments derive their authority only from the consent of the governed. And on top of that, I would argue that this shows an incredible faith in ‘credentialism.’ You know, if you have the right credentials, we should listen to you. If you don’t, you’re deplorable, and we don’t need to pay attention at all.”
