Elon Musk’s New Hire Draws Major Attention

Elon Musk Makes Bold New Hire That’s Drawing Major Attention

In a groundbreaking move, Elon Musk’s SpaceX has recently hired a remarkable individual: a 14-year-old Bangladeshi-American prodigy who just became the youngest graduate of Santa Clara University.

Kairan Quazi, the young genius, excitedly announced his new job on LinkedIn, declaring that he would soon be joining “the coolest company on the planet.”

“A huge thank you to my team at SpaceX for the most transparent, technically challenging, and fun interview process,” Quazi wrote in a Thursday LinkedIn post, according to Fortune. “I am packing my rain boots and ready for July!”

Quazi will be joining SpaceX’s Starlink team in Washington state next month, taking on the role of a software engineer.

What makes this achievement even more extraordinary is that Quazi is the youngest person ever to graduate from Santa Clara University, earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering at the age of 14. He joins the ranks of a select few individuals in the United States who have accomplished such a feat.

Prior to attending Santa Clara University, Quazi attended Las Positas Community College and even secured an internship at Intel Labs as an AI research co-op fellow when he was just 10 years old.

Despite facing rejection from 95 companies and receiving only three full-time job offers, Quazi persevered. He expressed his gratitude to SpaceX for not dismissing him based on his young age, stating that age is an “arbitrary and outdated proxy for maturity and ability.”

Interestingly, LinkedIn deleted Quazi’s account due to his age not meeting the platform’s minimum requirement. However, they sent him a message on Instagram, saying, “We’re excited by your enthusiasm, energy, and focus. We can’t wait to see what you do in the world.”

“Because you currently do not meet the age eligibility criteria to join, we have restricted your account. You are welcome back on the platform once you turn 16 or older,” the message read.

Quazi’s journey has been about challenging the status quo. He aims to contribute to SpaceX’s Starlink project, an internet satellite constellation that holds immense potential for the betterment of humanity. His goal is to work on projects that can provide “the greatest good for the greatest number.”

Recognizing his exceptional intelligence, Quazi’s mother, Julia, revealed that they discovered his remarkable abilities when he took an IQ test at the age of 9. Despite struggling to keep up with him, they made the decision to send him to college at a young age, believing that higher education would allow him to learn at his full potential.

Quazi hopes that by sharing his story, he can challenge biases and misconceptions held by influential leaders and open doors for more individuals like him.

Elon Musk’s bold decision to hire this extraordinary young talent has captured the attention of many, highlighting the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.
