Elon Musk warns of dangers of AI before announcing own such project

Twitterand Tesla CEO Elon Musk warned viewers of the dangers of artificial intelligence on Monday. He then announced that he would create his own AI platform that would try to understand the nature of the universe.

Musk foresaw the possible dangers that AI might pose to mankind, saying that it might be more harmful than poorly managed aircraft designs and could even wipe out entire civilizations.

Musk told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that” AI is more serious than, say, poorly managed aircraft construction, construction maintenance, or good car production.”

He continued,” It has the potential to destroy civilization, however little one may regard that possibility, but it is nonzero.”

Musk responded to the alarm by stating that he thinks the present course AI is taking could result in something that could seize authority and make decisions for people.

The action was taken in response to Musk and a group of AI experts’ call for an eight-month hiatus before creating programs that are more potent than OpenAI’s’s GPT-4. Because of the potential danger that AI could pose to society, they demanded a delay. Musk, however, already revealed his own plans to develop a unique AI system he called” TruthGPT.” It may look for the truth and make an effort to comprehend everything.

Musk stated that” I believe this might be the best path to health, in the sense that an AI that cares about comprehending the world is unlikely to kill people because we are an appealing aspect of it.”

Musk has been using Google’s’s AI researchers to release his company, which would compete with his co-founded OpenAI in 2015.

The two also talked about how he bought Twitter and the extensive authority some facets of the government had over the social media platform.
