“Automatic testing gets to people earlier, which means less HIV transmission, less illness,⁤ less death, and⁢ by the estimate‌ of health economists, 50 million pounds ($63 million) saved​ for the NHS,”⁤ Britain’s health service, John ​said.

Health‍ experts plan to expand the initiative ‌to 46 additional emergency rooms​ across England, aiming⁣ to reach the estimated 4,500 individuals​ who may be HIV positive but ⁣unaware of their status.

In line with World Health Organization targets, the‍ United Kingdom aims⁤ to achieve⁣ zero HIV transmissions in England by 2030. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak commended Sir Elton John’s AIDS Foundation for its impactful work⁣ in​ raising awareness, ‌reducing stigma, ⁤and saving lives.
