‘Elvira’ Claims Brad Pitt Was ‘Very Excited’ To Purchase Her ‘Haunted’ Mansion: ‘He Loved It’
Brad Pitt, an A-list actor, was said to be excited to purchase a ‘haunted’ mansion in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles once owned by Cassandra Peterson, an actress known for her role in “Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.” Although Peterson and her then-husband Mark Pierson warned Pitt that their house might be haunted before the sale almost 30 years earlier, it did not deter him from closing the deal at a reported $1.7 million purchase price back in 1994.
Peterson experienced a lot of paranormal activities during her stay at the house, such as sightings of real people walking and ghostly figures floating in the pool. She even enlisted the help of priests to conduct an exorcism to cleanse the house. Later, Pitt and his former wife, Angelina Jolie, raised their six children in the house before their 2016 divorce.
The house, also known as Briarcliff Manor and built for an oil baron in 1910, is more than 5,000 square feet and has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Pitt recently sold it for $40 million after decades of renovations and expansions.
Although Pitt did not publicly mention any ghost sightings or paranormal activities, he did acknowledge feeling heavy when driving home and feeling a sense of relief when taking off his cloak at the end of the day.
Overall, Peterson expressed satisfaction that Pitt appreciated the house, despite its notorious reputation for paranormal activities.
