Elvis’ granddaughter agrees to pay grandmother a huge amount to gain control over Lisa Marie’s trust.

Elvis Presley’s Granddaughter Agrees to Pay $1.4 Million for Control of Family Trust

Elvis Presley‘s granddaughter Riley Keough has made headlines after reaching an agreement with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley, to pay $1.4 million in exchange for control of the family trust, according to a recent report.

A Family Feud and a Tragic Loss

The 34-year-old Keough has been involved in a dispute with her grandmother following the unexpected death of Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie, earlier this year. Lisa Marie tragically passed away at the age of 54 after experiencing multiple cardiac events.

A Secret Deal Revealed

Keough and Priscilla reached a confidential agreement in May, but details have now emerged. According to a document obtained by People, Keough paid Priscilla $1 million to gain control of Lisa Marie’s multi-million dollar estate. Additionally, Keough covered her grandmother’s legal fees with a payment of $400,000.

Avoiding Litigation and Honoring Lisa’s Wishes

Keough’s lawyer, Justin Gold, explained that the settlement was reached to avoid costly legal battles and to respect Lisa Marie’s wishes. “In settling the claims pending in Priscilla’s Petition, the parties are saving significant legal fees by avoiding litigation, and they are likewise avoiding the spectacle of intra-family litigation that would have been inimical to Lisa’s wishes and not in the best interests of the family,” Gold stated.

Priscilla’s Confirmation and a Message of Unity

Priscilla confirmed in a statement to the New York Post that she never sued Keough. She clarified, “Although the media identified such a plea as a lawsuit, I want to make clear that there was never any lawsuit filed against my beloved granddaughter.” She expressed relief that the family has resolved their differences and requested privacy to grieve and spend time together. “We love and appreciate all of you, and the Presley family is stronger than ever,” Priscilla added.

A Peaceful Resolution and Moving Forward

A source revealed that Keough wanted to avoid any drama with her grandmother and was pleased to reach a mutually agreeable conclusion. The source also mentioned that Keough is relieved to have settled the dispute and is now focused on creating memories with her own daughter. Keough shares a young daughter with her husband, Australian stuntman Ben Smith-Petersen.
