Left-wing Demonstrators Hit Pharmaceutical Executive’s Campaign Vehicle in Iowa
An empty vehicle belonging to pharmaceutical executive Vivek Ramaswamy’s presidential campaign was targeted by left-wing demonstrators during a campaign event in Iowa on Thursday.
A small group of protesters shouted at Ramaswamy outside the event before two of them, both in their twenties, got into their car and drove off. However, before leaving, they collided with the parked campaign vehicle, causing minor damage. The estimated cost of repair for each vehicle is around $600.
Ramaswamy, who is 38 years old, reportedly has a private security detail to ensure his safety.

Expressing his commitment to free speech, Ramaswamy posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, “I believe in free speech, especially for those who disagree with me. Violence is never the answer. We will always hold ourselves to a higher standard than the other side.”
According to Fox News, the Grinnell Police Department was called to the scene to investigate the incident as a property damage case. Ramaswamy’s campaign could not confirm whether the collision was intentional, but they condemned it as ”unAmerican and unacceptable.”
The Associated Press reported that Ramaswamy responded to the crash by sending out fundraising emails, urging supporters to donate and “stand for free speech.”
