Riley’s lifeless body was discovered in a wooded area on the University of Georgia campus after she went out for a jog. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.
Ibarra now faces multiple charges, including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call, and concealing the death of another. NewsNation reporter Ali Bradley revealed that Ibarra had also been arrested in New York five months ago on charges related to child injury.
While local police have not yet confirmed Ibarra’s immigration status, they did arrest his brother Diego on charges of green card fraud in connection with Riley’s murder.
Lawmakers are holding the Biden administration accountable for its lax border policies, which have resulted in record numbers of illegal crossings and the release of millions of foreign nationals into the United States.
