Eric Swalwell criticizes Chris Wray’s Judiciary Committee appearance as ‘total chaos’.

Rep. Eric Swalwell Slams FBI Director Christopher Wray in Fiery Hearing

During a recent appearance in front of the House Judiciary Committee, FBI Director Christopher Wray faced intense scrutiny and criticism. However, it was Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) who stole the show with his passionate and engaging remarks.

“Just bananas, absolute chaos in there,” Swalwell exclaimed, clearly frustrated with the proceedings. He didn’t hold back in his assessment, describing the testimony as a situation where the FBI director, responsible for overseeing a massive workforce and handling critical investigations, found himself in the midst of a meeting with Insurrection LLC, a law firm with just one client: Donald Trump.”

Swalwell didn’t shy away from addressing the main issues raised by Republicans during the hearing. He dismissed their concerns, highlighting the urgent challenges facing the nation, such as cyberattacks and mass shootings.

“And so the two main issues were why didn’t the FBI let more people see the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop? And why did the FBI raid Mar-a-Lago? Again, we’ve got cyberattacks coming at us. We have mass shootings all across America. And that was the focus today in the hearing,” he continued.

For Swalwell, this issue hits close to home. He comes from a family with a strong law enforcement background, and he believes that Republican skepticism towards the FBI puts the safety of his loved ones and all law enforcement officers at risk.

“Look, I’m a son of a cop,” he passionately stated. “I have two brothers who are police officers. I worry every day about their safety, but I especially worry now about the safety of everyone in law enforcement when you see these calls to defund the FBI.”

Swalwell’s concerns are not unfounded. He pointed out the dangerous consequences of politicizing the work of nonpolitical individuals, citing a former Trump aide who posted addresses of former FBI agents.

“So I do worry that, you know, their safety is at risk if we, you know, start politicizing the work of nonpolitical people,” Swalwell emphasized.

Rep. Eric Swalwell’s passionate defense of the FBI and his strong stance on law enforcement resonated with many, making it clear that this issue is far from over.
