Even With Boost From Moderators, Kamala Struggled To Debate
In a recent analysis of Vice President Kamala Harris’s performance in her first presidential debate, the author suggests that the moderation by ABC’s David Muir and Linsey Davis may have unfairly influenced the event, deeming it an illegal interference. Although the debate was not particularly impactful, it spotlighted Harris’s declining approval ratings, which have suffered despite prior media efforts to create a positive public perception of her. The writer argues that Harris’s speaking during the debate allowed Donald Trump to benefit from her articulation of points that could further diminish her appeal to voters. The piece raises concerns about the overall integrity of the debate process and Harris’s suitability as a candidate moving forward.
Vice President Kamala Harris couldn’t have had a better boost for her first (and only?) presidential debate if John Fetterman put her on his shoulders. The way ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis handled the event should be immediately audited by the Federal Election Commission as illegal interference. That’s not going to happen because the fix is in, so let’s just talk about some things here.
It wasn’t a knock-out debate, but Kamala is already on the slide with voters after exhausting the “vibes” and “joy” the media manufactured to prop her up. Donald Trump didn’t need a knock-out. He needed Kamala to talk. She did that, and — just as she did in the recent CNN interview — she reminded voters that she has no clue, no vision, and no interest in governance.
They told Trump — FALSELY — that he was wrong about states allowing late-term abortion (they do), that crime is “down” (it’s not), and that there’s nothing to see going on in Springfield, Ohio, where locals have expressed concerns about Haitian migrants killing and eating pets or other small animals (The Federalist reported shortly before the debate on a police report that corroborates those concerns).
My personal favorite was when Trump accurately stated that crime is up under the Kamala-Biden administration, only to have Muir tell him that actually, the FBI says the opposite.
That’s a lie. Nonprofits measuring crime say it’s higher today than it was before Trump left office. The cute game Democrats and David Muir are trying to play is distinguishing “violent crime” from crime crime. Violent crime is murder and assault. Crime crime is robbery, carjacking, property destruction, and theft. Kamala, with the help of Muir, wants voters to ignore their stolen car and just be grateful they weren’t raped.
In short, the moderators lied on behalf of Kamala, who performed poorly. Kamala is leading a failed administration on every front, and the debate hosted by ABC was an attempt to lie again so that she might be excused.
