Comedian films group storming out after Dylan Mulvaney joke: ‘F*** You, Transphobe!’
Comedian Chrissie Mayr Sparks Controversy with Trans Jokes
Stand-up comedian Chrissie Mayr caused a stir last week when she made jokes about trans activist Dylan Mulvaney during a comedy set at Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub in Dallas. Mayr’s irreverent humor didn’t sit well with some audience members, who left in protest.
Mayr’s Controversial Jokes
Mayr’s jokes centered around Mulvaney’s decision to partner with Bud Light and celebrate 365 days of “girlhood” without undergoing gender reassignment surgery. “Why has it been a year of girlhood and still no t***? That’s day one,” Mayr quipped. She went on to suggest that if she ever transitioned into a man, she’d seek a large male appendage immediately. “Why no t*** for Dylan? I don’t understand,” she said.
Mayr’s jokes didn’t stop there. Later in the set, she poked fun at LGBTQ ideology, saying, “You’re not bisexual, you’re just fun at parties.” Her jokes inspired a table of people to leave, shouting “F*** you, transphobe!” as they exited.
Mayr Responds to Critics
Mayr posted the clip on her Twitter with a caption that said, “Just FYI these ‘women’ went straight to management to complain and then proceeded to stampede (knock over) my merch table. This is the conflict when it comes to comedy and Leftists. It’s just not compatible.”
Mayr spoke with Fox News about the incident, saying, “If you believe in true equality then there’s no such thing as ‘punching down’. No group should be ‘safe’ from being made fun of. I will keep making fat jokes and trans jokes because I enjoy it and the crowds clearly do too.”
Mayr’s Take on Comedy and Leftists
Mayr believes that comedy and Leftists are not compatible. “Leftists want to be culture makers but also want certain groups exempt from ridicule,” she told Fox News. “They can’t have it both ways. If you believe in true equality, then no group should be ‘safe’ from being made fun of.”
Mayr’s Final Thoughts
Mayr’s jokes may have caused controversy, but she’s not backing down. “I will keep making jokes that some people find offensive because that’s what comedians do,” she said. “If you don’t like it, don’t come to my shows.”
Mayr’s Message to Critics
Mayr had a message for her critics: “Make sure she gets home safe, I don’t want those women to get harpooned in the neck on their way to their cars,” she joked about one of the women, who was overweight. “There are poachers out there, they are going to want their tusks!”
