‘Facebook Files’ Part 4: FBI’s Censorship Liaison May Have Committed Perjury
Top FBI Agent May Have Committed Perjury in Censorship Case
Part four of the “Facebook Files” published by Rep. Jim Jordan on Monday reveals a stunning revelation. FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan, who plays a crucial role in coordinating censorship strategy with Silicon Valley tech companies, may have lied under oath during his November testimony. According to internal Facebook documents, Chan participated in a secret follow-up call with Facebook employees about the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop, contradicting his previous statement that he was only aware of one meeting. This raises serious questions about the FBI’s role in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story.
In his November deposition, Chan admitted to a meeting with Facebook officials regarding the first Hunter Biden laptop story published by the New York Post. However, internal Facebook records contradict his claim of only one meeting. Laura Dehmlow, the FBI’s section chief of the Foreign Influence Task Force, offered “no comment” when Facebook asked about the laptop’s authenticity. Facebook then announced it was reducing the distribution of the story until a third-party fact check was completed.
Dehmlow initially acknowledged the laptop’s authenticity in a meeting with Twitter, but later changed the FBI’s response to “no comment” when other companies like Facebook inquired. This contradicts IRS whistleblowers who revealed that the FBI had confirmed the laptop’s authenticity as early as November 2019. Chan’s testimony and the internal Facebook documents raise serious doubts about the FBI’s integrity and its role in suppressing information.
Furthermore, another Facebook employee recalled a follow-up discussion with Chan the day after the meeting, where they asked for updates on the legitimacy status of Hunter Biden’s laptop. While Chan claimed to have no internal knowledge of the FBI’s investigation, Facebook records indicate that he was up to speed on the matter within the FBI. These inconsistencies further cast doubt on the FBI’s transparency and credibility.
The “Facebook Files” have previously exposed collusion between Facebook and Biden White House officials to censor information about Covid-19, including true content. The Biden administration pressured Facebook to remove humorous or satirical content that suggested the vaccine wasn’t safe, even if it was true. These revelations raise concerns about the government’s influence on social media platforms and the suppression of free speech.

In July, Chief Judge Terry Doughty of the Western District of Louisiana issued a preliminary injunction in Missouri v. Biden, prohibiting administration officials from collaborating with tech companies to censor dissenting speech on social media platforms. However, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals later issued a stay on the injunction, allowing federal officials to continue working with tech companies to censor Americans online. This ongoing battle highlights the importance of protecting free speech in the digital age.
