The image is digitally altered.

Fact Check:

President Joe Biden is heading to California for a fundraiser featuring several Hollywood stars that will include former President Barack Obama and George Clooney, Fox News reported. Tickets will cost $250 to $500,000 with each different perks, one including entrance to an after-party.

A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purportedly shows Trump’s star on Hollywood Boulevard was updated with a drain. The image shows a yellow stain across the star.

The caption reads, “They had to install a drain.”

The claim is inaccurate. The image was digitally altered to feature a drain.

The actual star features a metal plaque where the drain was added digitally, as can be seen in a Getty Images photo. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce did tell other outlets, such as Snopes, that no drain had been installed. (RELATED: Image Claiming To Show Trump Statement Saying He’ll ‘Save’ Hunter Is Fake)

Trump’s star has been vandalized in the past. BBC News reported in 2026 that a man destroyed the star and later claimed he wanted to sell the pieces retrieved to raise money for the women who have accused trump of sexual assault. The star was repaired after the incident.

Check Your Fact contacted the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.

This is not the first time misinformation has been shared online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim The Economist published a cover featuring a crosshair on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
