Verdict: False

The post has been digitally fabricated. There is no evidence Walz said this.

Fact Check:

Walz delivered a speech Thursday night shortly after his acceptance of the Democratic vice presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention and mentioned his family, saying he loved them, according to NPR. His son, 17-year-old Gus Walz, stood and said, “That’s my dad!” through tears, the outlet reported.

An X image allegedly shows a post made by Tim Walz firing back at Coulter after she insulted his son, calling him “weird.” The photo appears to show Coulter reacting to an article from The Daily Express with the headline “Tim Walz’s 17-year-old son breaks down in tears at father’s DNC speech.”

In response, Walz allegedly said, “Talk about why your fiancés keep leaving you,” and included what appears to be a screenshot from Coutler’s Wikipedia page. The excerpt reads, “Coulter has been engaged several times, but she has never married and has no children.”

This image is digitally fabricated, however. No such post can be found on Walz’s X account. The Coulter post, on the other hand, was genuine, but has since been deleted, according to The Hill

Check Your Fact recently debunked a similar claim involving Walz replying to an X post by bringing up relationship status. The fabricated screenshot claimed Walz said, “Your fiancé left you” in response to an X user sharing an image of a tampon box with Walz’s face.
