FACT CHECK: Threads Post Shows Celebrities In Idaho, Not Picnic At Detroit Church Trump Visited
A misleading post on Threads claimed to show a picnic at a church in Detroit visited by Donald Trump, depicting it as featuring celebrities. In reality, the image, initially posted by Kristen Bell on Instagram in July 2023, was taken at the South Fork Lodge in Idaho and shows several celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Fallon. The originally misrepresented image has no connection to Donald Trump or the church he visited. Additionally, the post falsely attributed the image to an event involving Trump. Moreover, there is speculation that Trump may announce his vice-presidential pick soon, with potential candidates being North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, and Senators J.D. Vance and Marco Rubio.
