Falcons’ Cameron Batson Arrested for DUI and Fighting with Cop
Cameron Batson, wide receiver on the Falcons practice team, was arrested After a wild encounter that included a fight with an officer, and a chase in a car, the driver under the influence (DUI), was arrested Saturday morning.
Batson was stopped for speeding and not staying in his lane. The 27-year old was then subject to a field sobriety check, which he failed.
Officers tried to arrest Batson, but the situation turned physical. Batson struggled with the officers, and at some point during the altercation, an officer’s gun discharged, but no one was hit. Batson then got into his car and drove off, following the officers. Batson crashed his car, tried to flee on foot, but was soon caught and arrested.
“We have been made aware of an overnight incident involving Cameron Batson and are currently gathering information from law enforcement agencies,” In a statement, the Falcons stated. “We take this matter seriously and have no further comment at this time.”
Batson was only slightly injured.
Batson, a Texas Tech graduate, is in his first season with the Falcons. He has previously spent his three previous seasons with Tennessee.
