Famous Actor Found Guilty of Possessing, Producing Tens of Thousands of Files of Child Porn
An Austrian court on Tuesday delivered a shocking verdict, finding a renowned actor guilty of possessing and producing tens of thousands of files of child pornography. The court sentenced him to a two-year suspended prison sentence.
Florian Teichtmeister, a former member of Vienna’s famous Burgtheater and known for his role as Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph in the movie “Corsage,” had previously pleaded guilty to collecting and processing files containing depictions of abuse.
The Vienna state court also mandated that the 43-year-old undergo therapy and submit to regular drug tests. Failure to comply with these conditions could result in placement in a center for mentally ill offenders.
“He said he will work intensively on himself, so that nothing is going to happen again,” his lawyer Rudolf Mayer said, emphasizing that Teichtmeister would continue attending weekly therapy sessions.
The actor accepted the verdict without appeal, according to ORF, a public broadcaster. Judge Stefan Apostol took into account Teichtmeister’s illness, remorse, and willingness to undergo therapy when delivering the verdict.
During the trial, prosecutor Julia Kalmar highlighted the severity of Teichtmeister’s actions. She revealed that he not only collected a massive amount of sexually abusive images of children over many years but also added “pedo-sadistic texts” to these images in a way she had never seen before in her career.
Kalmar read out several violent passages Teichtmeister had written, while he looked motionlessly at the table in front of him.
Prosecutors stated that approximately 47,500 of the 76,000 files owned by Teichtmeister depicted children under the age of 14. Additionally, the actor confessed to using three grams of cocaine per day for months, stating that it fueled his violent fantasies.
It is important to note that Teichtmeister was not accused of photographing or filming acts of abuse himself.
