Fauci Tries to Rewrite History, Claims He “Didn’t Recommend Locking Anything Down”

Dr. Anthony Fauci continued lying to the American public this week during an appearence on The Hill’s show “Rising,” where he told hosts Robby Soave and Batya Ungar Sargon that he never supported “locking anything down.”

The comment came after Fauci was asked about the devastating impacts that school closures had caused, which Fauci seemed to interpret as accusatory, prompting him to falsely claim that he never supported lockdowns of any form. Fauci also tried to defend school closures, and said that if you go back and look at his statements, he emphasized that “we need to do anything we can to keep the schools open – and safe.” The word “safe” is a weasel word here, as the criteria for “safety” used by the Covidians was absurd enough to essentially guarantee the continued closure of schools.

Just days after the White House started gaslighting the American public by trying to redefine the standard definition of “recession” ahead of Thursdays probably-disastrous GDP numbers release, Fauci is hoping you’ll just forget everything he said after the media annointed him to sainthood.

Fauci said during a Q&A with students at College of the Holy Cross on October 6, 2020 that “When it became clear that we had community spread in the country, with a few cases of community spread — this was way before there was a major explosion like we saw in the Northeastern corridor driven by New York City metropolitan area — I recommended to the president that we shut the country down.”

Surely “the entire country” counts as “anything.”

Townhall’s Spender Brown tracked down at least nine quotes where Fauci defended lockdowns in some form or another; which included him giving “his blessing” for then NYC-Mayor Bill de Blasio’s plan to extend the closure of public schools, attacking Gov. DeSantis for reopening schools, endorsed remote learning, calling for the closure of bars, and calling for individual state lockdowns.

That Fauci is trying to rewrite history just goes to show that even he’s aware that lockdowns were an unpopular disaster – and the media and the so-called fact checkers will let him get away with it.
