FBI Probes Nashville School Shooter’s Manifesto As Pressure Mounts For Its Release

The FBI is currently examining the “manifesto” of the 28-year-old shooter who opened fire in the Covenant School in Nashville on Monday, killing six people, including three young children. The shooter was killed by police before she could take further action. While the manifesto is believed to detail the woman’s motives, police have not disclosed its contents, prompting some officials to call for transparency regarding its release to the public.

Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) told Fox News that he believes the families of the victims and the wider public deserve to know “what was going on in the mindset of [the shooter].” The FBI and Behavioral Analysis Unit are both involved in the investigation, and the Metro Nashville Police Department has authority over the manifesto’s release, which will occur at an appropriate time as the investigation continues.

Metro Nashville City Councilman Russ Pulley, whose district includes the school, has suggested that federal involvement might indicate a possible hate crime, particularly given the Covenant Presbyterian Church’s operation of the school. The FBI has stated that it is not investigating the case as an act of domestic terrorism, nor is it monitoring trans activists to identify potential domestic terrorism threats.

The radical transgender community has been particularly outspoken in recent weeks following the introduction of new laws prohibiting chemical and surgical treatments for young people. A “Trans Day of Vengeance” is scheduled to take place in Washington over the coming weekend, though it is not known if the Nashville shooter was affiliated with the group responsible for organizing the event.

Burchett has expressed concern over the potential for radical transgender activists to incite violence, particularly if they advocate for violent acts in the name of “vengeance.” Metro City Councilman Robert Swope has praised the police department for its handling of the situation and has confidence that the manifesto will be released at the right time.

The victims of the shooting were named as Cynthia Peak, Katherine Koonce, Mike Hill, Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney. The Daily Wire has chosen not to provide the shooter’s name in alignment with their policy of not granting notoriety to mass killers.
