FBI searching for 4 US citizens kidnapped after crossing border into Mexico

FOur U.S. citizens had crossed the border and were abducted. Texas To MexicoFederal authorities made the plea Sunday for public assistance.

They were travelling in a minivan white with no windows. North Carolina License plates were displayed on Friday as they crossed into Matamoros from the northeastern state Tamaulipas. This city is home to the warring factions within the Gulf Drug cartel.

“Shortly after crossing into Mexico, unidentified gunmen shot the passengers of the vehicle,” A statement was read by the U.S. Embassy Mexico City. “The gunmen herded the four U.S. citizens into another vehicle and fled the scene with them.”

This Mexican town is located just south of Brownsville in Texas. In recent days there had been numerous shootouts. The U.S. Consulate issued a Friday warning.

Tamaulipas’ state police said that there were people who had been injured or killed Friday. However, they did not provide exact numbers. according
