FBI’s Warrant Targeted “the 45 Office” by Name

Following the Monday raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, it has been revealed that FBI agents reportedly recovered 11 sets of classified documents from the residence, and sought to search “the 45 Office” by name.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the search and seizure warrant showed that FBI agents sought to search “the 45 Office,” as well as “all storage rooms and all other rooms or areas within the premises used or available to be used by [the former president] and his staff and in which boxes or documents could be stored, including all structures or buildings on the estate.”

The documents viewed by the outlet reportedly states that FBI agents did not seek to search private guest rooms, like those of the club’s members.

The 20 boxes of items removed from the premises includes a handwritten note and the executive grant of clemency for Trump ally Roger Stone as well as  binders of photos, the Wall Street Journal reported.

A list of items removed from the property includes a number of documents marked as classified, including set of documents marked as “Various classified/TS/SCI documents,” four sets of top secret documents, three sets of secret documents, as well as three sets of confidential documents. The list, viewed by the outlet, did not provide details into the substance of these documents.

On Monday, Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence was raided by over two dozen FBI agents acting on suspicion that the former president had violated the Presidential Records Act, which requires the preservation of written communications like memos, letters, and emails related to a president’s official duties.

On Thursday, Trump blasted former President Barack Obama, saying that he kept over 30 million pages of documents when he left office.

“What happened to the 30 million pages of documents taken from the White House to Chicago by Barack Hussein Obama? He refused to give them back!” Trump said.

“This act was strongly at odds with NARA (National Archives and Records Administration). Will they be breaking into Obama’s ‘mansion’ in Martha’s Vineyard.”

In a press release on Friday, Trump said: “President Barack Hussein Obama kept 33 million pages of documents, much of them classified. How many of them pertained to nuclear? Word is, lots!”

In a Wednesday press conference, US Attorney General Merrick Garland conformed to the public that he had personally signed off on the raid.

Garland told the public that “I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter,” noting that the Justice Department “does not take such a decision lightly.”
