Federal Court Rejects Trump Bid To Stop Top Aides From Testifying In Jan. 6 Criminal Case
A federal court has denied former President Donald Trump’s request to prevent his top aides from testifying in the federal criminal investigation of his attempts to remain in power after the 2020 presidential election.
According to a tweet by POLITICO reporter Kyle Cheney, a federal appeals court blocked Trump’s request to prevent several of his close advisors from testifying to special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation of the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Among the aides in question were Mark Meadows, John Ratcliffe, Robert O’Brien, Ken Cuccinelli, Stephen Miller, and Dan Scavino, all of whom were close advisors to Trump during his presidency.
Trump is also the subject of three other ongoing criminal investigations, including one in Manhattan where he has been indicted on 34 counts of felony charges, another by the federal government over his handling of classified material after leaving office, and a third in Georgia investigating his efforts to remain in power following the 2020 election.
