Feds Offer Big Reward In Manhunt For Top Aide To Ex-GOP Governor

Federal law enforcement officials are offering up to$ 20,000 in exchange for information that could result in the arrest of Larry Hogan‘s former chief of staff after he failed to show up for his criminal trial.

Two weeks ago, after Roy McGrath failed to appear for his corruption trial in Baltimore, government started looking for him. Currently, the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service are each offering$ 10,000 for information that could result in McGrath’s capture.

He is regarded as a risky foreign trip because he was born in Europe, according to authorities. Additionally, McGrath goes by a number of names, including Roy Baisliadou and RC Mak-Grath.

Joseph Murtha, McGrath’s lawyer, expressed concern for his client and apprehension about what was going on.

” I have no idea.” I didn’t anticipate this, Murtha said. ” For him, this conduct is so out of the real.” It is obvious that his comfort is a priority.

In 2020, McGrath, 53, resigned as Hogan’s chief of staff after being charged with fraudulently obtaining a severance package from his previous position as director of the Maryland Environmental Service, which was worth$ 233, 648, or one year of pay.

McGrath entered a not guilty plea to federal charges of robbery and wire fraud. His Monday morning court appearance was scheduled to start with an indictment for a superseding prosecution. He is accused by state authorities of secretly recording older officials’ private conversations. If found guilty, McGrath may spend years behind bars.

According to The Washington Post, Hogan when referred to McGrath as a” honest consultant” and said that he was essential to helping him make his presidency after winning the Maryland race competition in 2014.

Hogan, who might be called as a testimony in the McGrath way, denies endorsing the significant compensation of the couple. McGrath, according to Murtha,” steadfastly stands by the fact that Governor Hogan officially approved of his payment from Maryland Environmental Service, and unfortunately, turned his back on Mr.” in order to avoid the political fallout from his choice.
