Feds Retrieve 9 More Boxes of Biden Docs From Lawyer’s Office
National Archives staff retrieved 9 boxes of documents from President Joe Biden’s Boston office in November, according to a letter sent by the agency to Sens. Ron Johnson (Republican, Wis.), and Chuck Grassley, (Republican, Iowa).
Fox News reported that National Archives has yet not examined the documents in order to find out if they contain classified information. reported:
The number of boxes that were taken from Boston by the Archives was not disclosed publicly before. According to reports, it had been revealed that [Biden attorney Patrick] Moore shipped boxes from the Penn Biden Center into his Boston office, before finding the original trove of classified papers at the Washington D.C.-based thinktank.
Johnson and Grassley posed questions in a February 24 letter to Debra Steidel, Acting Archivist of United States. They asked how and when they discovered that the records had been moved to Boston.
“When NARA [National Archives and Records Administration] contacted President Biden’s personal counsel on November 3, 2022, to arrange to pick up boxes from the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., they informed NARA that Mr. Moore had moved other boxes from the Penn Biden Center to Mr. Moore’s law firm in Boston,” The letter says.
The archives also informed the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General that documents were being moved on November 4. On Nov. 9, the documents were taken by the Archives and secured at John F. Kennedy Presidential Library.
Two months have passed since federal authorities made the discovery. discovered Biden’s Washington, D.C., think-tank, and his personal files are classified Wilmington, Del., home.
