Female Shooter Kills 3 Children, 3 Adults in Nashville School Attack
Before officers shot the gunman, who appeared to be a teen girl, dead on Monday, at least three kids and three adults were shot and killed. The shooting occurred in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to Don Aaron, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, officials may speak gunfire coming from The Covenant School’s second ground at 10:13 in the morning.
According to Aaron, the gunman had a gun and at least two semi-automatic rifle. She was shot at by two officials from a five-person party in what Aaron described as the entrance area, and by 10:27 in the morning, she had passed away.
At this point, we do not understand who she is, Aaron said.
In the United States, terrible mass shootings are becoming more common, but female assailants are extremely uncommon. Just four of the 191 bulk shootings that The Violence Project, a nonprofit research institute, has documented since 1966 involved female attackers.
According to the K – 12 School Shooting Database, a page started by scientist David Riedman, there have been 89 school shootings in the U.S. so far in 2023, which is defined as any time he fires his gun on school property. The database’s highest number of such incidents, which dates back to 1970, was 303 next summer.
According to John Howser, a doctor representative, three students were declared dead after arriving at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Vanderbilt with bullet wounds. According to the law, the gunman killed three female staff members.
No one else was shot besides the deceased, according to Aaron.
Parents of students were instructed to congregate at a local religion.
According to the school website, the 2001-founded Covenant School is a division of Covenant Presbyterian Church that serves nearly 200 students in the Green Hills neighborhood of Nashville. According to WTVF – TV, the school offers school through sixth grade and held an energetic torpedo training program in 2022.
