Brian Stelter, a former CNN media correspondent who was fired from CNN in August 2021 as part of the network’s efforts to reduce partisan reporting, announced on Monday that he has a new gig as a correspondent for Vanity Fair.

Stelter took up a temporary position at Vanity Fair to cover the trial over Dominion Voting Systems’ lawsuit against Fox News. In his new job, he’ll be writing weekly columns about Dominion v. Fox and hosting a special edition of VF’s ‘Inside the Hive’ podcast, called ‘Fox on Trial,’ with new episodes each Thursday until there’s a verdict,” he said on Twitter.

Dominion Voting Systems’ lawsuit against Fox News accuses the network of spreading false claims about the company’s voting machines and software after the 2020 presidential election.

Vanity Fair reported in August 2022 that Stelter’s TV segment, Reliable Sources, was cancelled under new CNN management headed by Chris Licht.

During his time at CNN, Stelter was known for being overtly critical about former President Donald Trump, and in 2019, Stelter nodded during an episode of Reliable Sources as a guest made the claim that Trump “may be responsible for many more million deaths” than Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Mao Zedong.
