Florida attorney general warns Disney that as the DeSantis rivalry intensifies, the condition may make records public.

Florida’sattorney general warned Disney that some of its company records could be made public as Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) leads an attempted state takeover of the central Florida district encompassing the Walt Disney World Resort.

In a letter to Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger on Thursday, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody warned him that some inner information might be made public by the state’s’s people records act. The letter represents the most recent development in the conflict between DeSantis and the venerable internet behemoth.

According to what Moody wrote in the notice,” Those agreements presumably transfer certain government operations to Disney.” ” I am writing because these contracts might issue Disney to the public records norms of Florida.”

DeSantis has been attempting to seize authority of the exclusive area that makes up the Walt Disney World Resort, but it has encountered some difficulties as Disney has struggled to uphold its independence.

Disney’s’s notes denouncing DeSantis’ push for the Parental Rights in Education Act last year sparked the conflict between the two, which resulted in the reorganization of the central Florida area. Since the district’s’s founding in 1967, Disney has maintained complete independence over it.

In order to undermine the state’s’s invasion, Disney struck a deal with the previous Reedy Creek Improvement District board prior to the restructuring, though DeSantis supporters are attempting to pass legislation to revoke that agreement.

Moody’s’s notice served to alert Disney that it might be in violation of state regulations if it withholds information going forward rather than making any demands for specific information from Disney. She said that as a result of the agreement, Disney’s’s records pertaining to the” development of Disney-owned properties in Florida, rate setting for utilities and other similar matters ,” where it” purports to exercise delegated government functions ,” could be made public.

She wrote to the Disney CEO,” Please also be advised that there is typically no counsel – client or play product pleasure when dealing with public records.”

The Florida governor has vowed to pursue the industry in more ways than one as the Disney – DeSantis conflict intensifies. He most recently declared his intention to levy fees on the roads leading to Disney’s’s theme parks and increase taxes on hotels. On Monday, he made a joke about how, once under authority control, the area may be transformed into an opposing theme park or state prison.
