Floyd Brown: NC’s ‘Vote Delivery Machine’ Rescues from Dems, Could Save US.

How David Lane’s American Renewal Project is Changing the Game in North Carolina

When it comes to politics, North Carolina has long been a battleground state. But while pundits have been buzzing about its potential to tip the scales in the presidential race, governor’s race, and congressional elections, they’ve been overlooking the quietly powerful work of David Lane and his American Renewal Project.

As an observer of Lane’s work for two decades, I can attest that it has reached its most effective level in North Carolina. In 2021 alone, Lane hosted 13 lunches for pastors across the state, drawing in 2,700 church leaders who were inspired by Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson. Of those leaders, 50 ran for office and 25 won their primaries. On election day, 10 of those leaders were elected to office.

The dirty secret of GOP politics is that when Christians are engaged and vote, Republicans win. And Lane has built a vote delivery machine for the GOP, proving his model in a state that Barack Obama won when he ran for president. But Lane isn’t stopping there. He’s now working with black churches to help exonerated men and women get their criminal records expunged, providing them with enhanced job opportunities and a chance to rebuild their lives.

Engaging Christians for Unity, Security, and Love

In my new book, “Counterpunch: An Unlikely Alliance of Americans Fighting Back for Faith and Freedom,” I showcase the effectiveness of strategies such as those employed by Lane. But it’s not just about winning elections. It’s about engaging Christians in politics to bring Americans together for the values we all agree upon.

Democrats may give lip service to the black community, but Lane’s American Renewal Project is loving on the black community through the churches and pastors organized by Lane. And while Saul Alinsky’s strategy was based on division and ridicule, creating fear and hatred in the underclass against Republicans, I believe Republicans need to answer with the message of Christ – a message of radical love.

If we want to counter the agenda of division, fear, and hatred, we need to answer with an agenda of unity, security, and love. And that’s exactly what David Lane’s American Renewal Project is doing in North Carolina.

  • Engaging Christians in politics is key to winning elections
  • David Lane’s American Renewal Project has proven its effectiveness in North Carolina
  • Expungement is the latest addition to Lane’s strategy, helping exonerated men and women rebuild their lives
  • Republicans need to answer the agenda of division, fear, and hatred with the message of Christ – a message of radical love
