An Arkansas jury handed down its verdict in the child pornography trial for former reality TV star Josh Duggar.
The 33-year-old was found guilty on Thursday of one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possession. The former “19 Kids and Counting” star was arrested in April after federal authorities found child porn files were being downloaded on his computer.
He was immediately taken into custody following the verdict.
“It’s my honor and privilege to join in this announcement of the guilty verdict in the case of the United States v. Josh Duggar. This case represents a significant milestone for the Western District of Arkansas, and our continued efforts to combat child abuse,” announced Clay Fowlkes, the U.S. Attorney for Western Arkansas.
Over the course of the trial, Homeland Security Special Agent Gerald Faulkner testified to what he found in the investigation. Faulkner said one of the files found depicted children as young as 18 months and up to 12-years-old.
Faulkner said in all his years as an investigator, the images are “in the top five of the worst I have ever had to examine.”
The judge in the case said Duggar would be sentenced in four months. He faces 20 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines for each count.
